Fengzhao Xu, a Chinese photographer now rooted in Los Angeles, sees the world through his documentary lens. His works delve into the diverse generations of China, capturing the essence of their experiences with a unique perspective.

Beginning his photography journey by capturing people on the streets, Fengzhao has developed a distinctive approach to his craft, perceiving the world through his own eyes. All Starts Here

Some things may have been pursued for a long time with an initial sincere heart and pursuit. However, often things don't go as planned, and what we love is not necessarily what we are good at. Just like some people and things, what we love is not necessarily what is suitable for us.

Isn't life just a process of chasing after what we love? Some people spend their whole lives pursuing the worldly splendor, while others seek only a moment of tranquility at their feet. Compared to anyone, there is no right or wrong. Along the way, I have never stopped expressing myself, whether it be through words, music, or photography - just different ways of doing so. Some dedicate themselves to science to prove their existence, but I use my passion to tell stories around me.

To me, photography is not just light and geometry; the photos I see can sing their own melodies. I hope my expression is clear and precise, yet also with a subtle sense of confusion. A passage of overly clear words can be as powerless as a textbook concept, while overly vague communication is like a faint emotion.

The gap between desire and reality is always there, but so what? What we yearn for is what matters most.

故事开始

有些东西你或许坚持了很久，最初也是抱着一颗赤诚的心去做，去追求。可是往往事与愿违，自己喜欢的并不是自己擅长的；就跟一些人事物那样，自己喜欢的，却并不是适合自己的。

人生不就是追逐自己热爱的东西的一个过程吗？有些人毕生追逐这世间繁华，有些人驻足于脚下，只求片刻宁静；相比于谁，都没有个真正的对与错。一路来，我未曾停止过表述；文字或是音乐抑或是照片；不过是不同的方式而已。有人将自己奉献于科学，来证明自己存在的价值；我用我所热爱的方式来讲述身边的故事。

于我，照片不仅仅是光影或是几何，我所看见的照片是会唱出自己的旋律；我希望自己的表达方式清晰明了；我又希望他们带着若隐若现的迷茫。一段过于清晰的字句如教科书概念般苍白无力，而一个过于模糊的传达亦是似有似无的情绪。

渴望与现实总有一定的距离，可又如何？自身渴求的，便是了。
